INDIVIDUAL COACHINGAreas where coaching facilitates change include: - Performance – activities, results
- Learning – processes, skills
- Fulfillment – professional, personal
Individual Coaching Individual coaching is, due to its confidential context, a place that allows leaders to freely try out unfinished ideas, reflect loudly, be challenged and be vulnerable. All of this without being exposed to colleagues and superiors. It is a sanctuary where clear feedback is being provided, without any consequences except self-development and increased courage.
Coaching is a conversational process between leader and coach. The organization, the leader and the coach work together to create maximum influence. The coach is not an advisor who provides answers to the leader’s challenges, but a conversation partner who asks impactful questions, challenges and provokes new action.
In the work context there is often a particular focus on goals in the domain of performance, with learning as a means to improved performance, and fulfilment as a potential source of motivation, leading to improved performance.
Individual coaching involves regular, pre-scheduled coaching conversations that focus on commitment and responsibility, as well as playing and balance, creating a deeper understanding and the basis for permanent implementation of a coaching culture. It is valuable for you as a leader to have a place where you can make your own plans of action and commit to your discoveries.
"Pay special attention to ‘the best of the past and present’ - in order to ‘ignite the collective imagination of what might be.’ Appreciative Inquiry is about seeing that which others may not see. It's about heightening our awareness of the value, strength and potential of ourselves and others. " David Cooperrider |
